Quiberon, between Sea & Heritage

From the Hôtel Port Haliguen, set off to explore Quiberon and its peninsula. Stroll through the streets of the resort, discover its villas, harbors, and landscapes facing the sea. In Port Haliguen, the old port and its lighthouse give the area an authentically Breton atmosphere. The market held in the Place du Vieux Port brings the area to life every Wednesday, from mid-June to mid-September. Just 100 meters from the hotel, you'll find Porigo Beach. Further afield, the Grande Plage, Château Turpault, and Pointe du Conguel are among Quiberon's must-sees: a wonderful way to discover the peninsula at your own pace.

The beaches of Quiberon

Just 100 meters from the hotel, Porigo Beach is the closest. This fine sandy beach, prized for its morning sun, has a lifeguard station in the summer and is located near the sailing school. Continuing along the bay, discover Fort Neuf Beach, popular for sailing and jet skiing, then Aerodrome Beach, a vast stretch of sand facing the bay. Further south, Conguel Beach offers a peaceful setting. Thalasso Beach and Grande Plage complete Quiberon's seaside options.

Restaurants

There's no shortage of great places to eat, discover all our must-try spots:

  • La Crêperie du Vieux Port: crêpes in a 17th-century house.
  • La Base: a friendly and gourmet brasserie.
  • Le BaraGwin: a wine and tapas bar with homemade cuisine.
  • Le Café du Midi: bistro and crêperie, open all day.
  • Le Take Away: pizzas to go.

The islands off Quiberon

From Quiberon, embark on a getaway to the islands off the coast. Belle-Île-en-Mer, Houat, and Hoëdic are accessible by boat for a day of exploration. Coastal paths, beaches, small harbors, and island landscapes invite you to escape the everyday for a day trip. You can also visit Île aux Moines with Angelus ferries.

Walks & Hikes

On foot or by bike, the peninsula can be explored along coastal paths, small roads, and marked trails. The GR34 long-distance hiking trail passes by Port Haliguen and runs alongside several beaches.
For another way to explore the coastline, equestrian centers also offer horseback riding on the Côte Sauvage and in the surrounding area.
